Know that you are worth it

Photo by Sharon McCutcheon on UnsplashI go a for a walk first thing each morning and I like to listen to podcasts to help make the most of my time. There’s a podcast from Ben Lionel Scott that I enjoy listening to. The clips are short so I mix them in with the other ones I listen to. They are the audio from the amazing videos he puts on his YouTube channel.

Day 50 Progress Check-in

Day 50 Progress Check-inI made it to day 50. I’m technically on Day 56 but it took me a few days to get this post ready. I wasn’t sure how far I could get when I began this journey. Like many things, I take it a day (or a few days) at a time. My initial target was 30 days but then I revised it to 75. Now I’ve moved my goal officially to 90 and I’m past the half-way point. Here are some of the details and the lessons learned.

My Progress:

No mistake is worth killing yourself

Photo by Chad Madden on UnsplashI’ve heard too many stories over the past several years of people taking their own lives because of being in tough situations. Stress is at an all-time high – even before COVID-19 hit. People are working too hard, juggling too much and taking on more than they can handle. Life is certainly not easy.

I read through the daily Catholic mass each day, as many of you probably know. Whether you’re religious or not, you can benefit from what I’m about to share. Wednesday’s reading included the below passage from Acts 25-27:

My Favorite Podcasts

Photo by Austin Distel on UnsplashPeople frequently ask me about the podcasts I listen to. It’s funny because until recently, I didn’t regularly listen to podcasts. I spend a big chunk of my day interacting with people. And when I need to crank out work and focus, I prefer music.  However, I now spend 45-100 minutes walking outside each day which is the ideal time to learn. And what better way to learn is there than listening to podcast?

I have the following preferences when it comes to podcasts:

  • Relatively short in length (an hour or less).
