Twitter seems to be the social media service that people struggle with the most. In my classes, I tend to do a lot more explaining about it than services that are much more straightforward. Still, I think it’s the best service for making new connections if you can figure out what you’re doing.
What is Twitter? What is a Tweet? I get asked this all the time as Twitter (like Pinterest) is in a class of its own among social media sites. It’s wildly popular and second only to Facebook in terms of user base. In a nut shell, Twitter is a micro-blogging site — that means that you post tweets (status updates that are less than 140 characters in length) about whatever you want to share.
