The end of the year is typically a time for reflection. In this day and age when our media is dominated by bad news and negativity, we often look back at our own lives and see things to be worse than they actually are. We often don’t realize how much we contribute to others each day and that’s why “It’s a Wonderful Life” is my favorite Christmas movie.
If you’re not familiar with the film, George Bailey (played by the legendary Jimmy Stewart) is a man that has made many personal sacrifices to help those around him. He falls on some hard times – money is stolen from him and because he owns a bank, if he can’t replenish it, he’ll go to jail. George, feeling that his life has no meaning, wishes that he never was born. His guardian angel grants his wish so George gets to see how things in his small town of Bedford Falls turn out without him.
George learns firsthand that his life has had a positive impact on his small community and asks for his life back. This video shows what happens when George gets his life back and gets a new perspective on life. It’s truly inspirational.
The movie is available on DVD
