“The best thing you can do is ease your way outside of your comfort zone so you can have small successes to build your confidence.” This advice aptly applies to the myriad of fears we cultivate.

Another helpful bit is to remember that shyness is like turning the flashlight beam on oneself. If you turn the flashlight the other way & shine the light on the person you’re interacting with, the focus shifts. Since you can only pay attention to one thing at a time, you are no longer feeding your shyness. Like any skill, this takes time to build.
